Embrace it

I love this quote “Embrace the season of your life”. Too often we spend so much time and energy fighting things, working hard so we can get more, better, different – and we forget to enjoy our life as it is, we forget to appreciate the good things that are right under our nose. When we were single, we complained about not finding love. When we found love, we wished we had a little one. When we have a newborn, we can’t wait for them to grow up and sleep at night. This weekend hubby and I talked a lot of how “happy we’ll be when we move to the Bay Area in a few years”….as if our life wasn’t good right now?! It’s so much easier to focus on what we don’t have yet, because we think that it’s probably what’s going to bring us happiness. But really, there are great things in each of the seasons of our lives – we just need to pay a little attention, and embrace our life for what it is right this second.

You are so right. It’s so easy to overlook the now and keep looking forward to the next thing. I’m going to try and remember to embrace the now! Love the colours, by the way!

Absolutely agree! It is so easy to wish our lives away, missing the joy we have for the wishing of what we do not (yet). And I suspect lives go all too fast.
